Bear Attacks a middle-aged man who went to collect wood in the forest: Seriously injured, he referred to Jaipur, the person had gone to the Chidi Kho forest area. Vishnu Gupta, Regional Forest officer, said that Govardhan Mali (52)son of Gyarsi Lal, resident of Harijan Basti Neem Chowki, had gone to collect wood in the Chidi Kho forest area of Ranthambore Tiger Reserve. During that time, a bear attacked him. After the attack, he somehow reached his home. After this, the family informed the forest department about it.

On receiving the information, the forest department team reached the spot. Govardhan’s face and head are completely injured. The flesh on his face has come out, the skin on his head has peeled off, and the skull has become visible. He has been sent to the hospital for treatment, from where he has been referred to a higher center after first aid.

Bear Attacks on Humans Common in Ranthambore

According to Ranger Gupta, looking at the head and face, it could be a bear attack, because bears attack like this. The forest department has appealed to local people not to go towards the forest. It is worth mentioning that many such cases of bears attacking humans have been reported in Ranthambore before this.

The number of bears in Ranthambore Tiger Reserve is more than tigers. The number of bears here is more than 100. At the same time, the number of tigers, tigresses, and cubs is 80. The number of bears is higher in the outer zone of Ranthambore. There are more bears in Zones 6 to 10 of Ranthambore. Incidents of bear attacks are also more common in this area.

Forest Officials Had Warned Attack Victim

Ranger Vishnu Gupta said that the injured Govardhan was caught several times by the forest personnel while cutting wood in the forest. He was let off after being warned. But once again Govardhan reached the forest and this accident has come to light.

Strict Rules for Ranthambore Visitors

Entry of people into Ranthambore National Park and Tiger Habitat Area is prohibited. Entering this area without permission is a crime. The forest department often takes action against people who enter without permission by imposing fines.
