Ranthambhore National Park,nestled the district of Sawai Madhopur in Rajasthan. The land of legand Ranthambhore National Park establish in 1980. Beasts in the presences of thriving population of royal Bengal tiger. Ranthambhore Park offers one of the best oppourtunities to spot these majestic creauture in the wild. Over the years,Ranthambhore has become synonymous with a few famous tiger ,who have captured the hearts of wildlife enthusiasths and photographer alike.This is where you get to see majestic tiger with black vertical strips and muscular body in action. In Ranthambhore National Park ,every tiger has a story behind them.

MACHALI THE QUEEN OF RANTHAMBHORE

Machli was famous because she has the symbol of fish on her back. Machli was also known as T-16 or The Lady of Lake. Some other name of Machli are Tigress Queen of Ranthambhore,Queen mother of tigers , Pride of Ranthambore , crocodile killer ,Longest-living tigress in the world and most importantly she received a ‘’Life time Achievement Award ’’. She was born in year 1997. Her remarkable survival skills, regal demeanor , and uniqe territory around the ranthambore fort made her a tourist favorite . Machli was also known for her fearlessness. In one famous incident , she faught killed 14 foot long crocodile in year 2003, a feat rarely accomplished By tigers . Machli lost 2 of her teeth in the battle ,but defeated the crocodile and earned the title crocodile killer. She gave birth to 11 cubs during her lifetime.

Machli passed away on 18 agust 2016 at the rip age of 20,making her one of the longest -living wild tigers. Machli legacy lives on,not just through her lineage but also through documentaries,photographs and numerous award,including the prestigious “lifetime Achievement Award’’ for her contribution to indian tourism.

SUNDARI

Sundari also known as T-17,the daughter of machli was another famous tigress of ranthambhore . It was in 2006 that Machli first came to the attention of the authorities at Ranthambor. Machli gave birth to Sundari was always the most dominant one . It was only in 2008 that Sundari managed to find for herself a clearly demarcated territory. In the summer of that year ,she grew become a fully independent tigress. Sundari fought with both her sisters, Krishna and Baghani, and won.

KRISHNA

Krishna, T-19,is The daughter of Machli and one of her closets successors. After Machli’s reign,Krishna became the dominant tigress in the lakesand fort area of Ranthambhor,continuing her mother’s legacy.

Krishna’s striking beauty and grace have made her a favorite among photographers and visiters. Krishna gave birth to 3 cubs as her first litterof two male and one female in year 2011. A female cub is known as T-63,while the both male cubs are known as T-64 and T-65.on Sunday 23 March 2014,she was spotted with her second litter of two female and one male. T-83 (Lightning) ,T-84 (Arrowhead) and T-85 cubs are Helping to ensure the the future of the park’s population.

USTAAD (T-24) THE FEARLESS TIGER

Ustad(T-24) is one of famous name after Machli. He truly lived the life of a king. Ustaad was born to tigress Gayatri(T-22) and jhumroo (T-20) in 2005. He did have some minor tussles with his sibling Zaalim (T-25). Ustaad lives in a beautiful family with partner Noor and three cubs. One of the three cubs is named is Sultan. The tiger came into limelight when he killed a forest guard, Rampal Saini on the doomed day of May 8,2015. Tiger reserve for nine years. Tigers are usally shy of humans and avoid confrontation with them unless harmed but the case of T-24 was a bit different. He had earlier also been charged of killing two villagers in July 2010 and March 2012 and other forest guard in October 2012. May 2015 was the highpoint for villagers suffering from the rising terror of Ustaad. Facing the protest from villagers,Ustaad was moved to Sajjangarh Biological Park in Udaipur on May 16 2015. Ustaad passed away on December 28,2022. He died from osteosarcoma bone cancer. With his death,the Man Eater tag on him was also removd. He spent his life as the king of jungle.

T-86 ARROWHEAD THE RISING STAR

Arrowhead is the daughter of Krishna and one of the recent stars of Ranthambhor. She was named Arrowhead because of the arrow mark on her left cheek. The tigress has settled down in zone no. 2, 3 and 4 (Raj-Bag and Nal-ghati area) of the park. She was sighted with her two tiny cubs in the first litter on 22 february 2018.Cubs named Riddhi and Siiddhi. Riddhi is known for her adventurous spirit and power. She gave her second litter on 2 January 2019. she gave her 3 litter on 23 July 2021.

T-41 (LAILA) THE MYSTERY TIGRESS

Laila is a beautiful and adult tigress in zone 4 and 5 of Rathambhore National Park. Her mother T-4 (Berada female) had given her first litter of one male and one female. Laila is one of them. Her sibling brother is tiger T-40. Her mother died in territorial fight on 4 April 2009. She shared her territory with tiger T-6,Romeo.After pairing ,She gave her first litter of one female in 2011 father by Romeo. Her daughter identified as T-76.Laila gave her second litter in 2016 father by Akash (T-64). The single male cub is known as T-104 (Aves). Laila known for her elusive behavior.
